ASUS India has come up with its 2014 version of the Asus Fonepad 7 tablet in India with a price tag of Rs. 8,990. The new Fonepad 7 goes with the model number FE170CG and has started selling exclusively on Flipkart, the online retailer. Running on the latest Android OS 4.3, the 7-inch LED tablet sports a 1024 x 600 pixel WSVGA resolution screen and a 1.2 GHz Intel Atom multi-core processor with the company's patented hyper-threading technology. Packed inside the tab is 1GB RAM and 4GB/8GB internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB via microSD card. This is coupled with 5GB Life Time ASUS web-storage space.
Digging a little deeper in the tech specs list, we find that the Asus Fonepad 7 is equipped with 3G, HSPA+ and 2G connectivity as well as Bluetooth 4.0 and WLAN for wireless networks. On the rear end, there's a 2 megapixel camera with autofocus that supports 720 pixel video recording and on the front there's a 0.3 megapixel snapper. For interfacing the tablet with other devices, users have a Micro USB slot, a 2-in-1 audio jack and 2 micro SIM card slots. A 15 Wh Li-polymer Battery offers up to 10 hours battery life.
